well today did not go as planned and if you have a december baby you know that anything can happen. for instance...when he was in elementary school...he was so hard to give him a birthday party. friends would decline due to parents going out to christmas parties. december 13th was too close to christmas and no one had extra funds to buy a kid a present. when he was little his best friend, eric was the only one who came....every single time. god bless that little boy. he made my boy so happy. through junior & high school they lost touch. they just reconnected on facebook.
once he became a teenager we just stopped trying to give him parties & jut gave him the cash.
well tonight...i started to get sick. the little girl is already sick & had been home from school the last 2 days. so tonight he is out having dinner with his girlfriends' family. they are taking him to old spaghetti factory. i am thankful that they are willing to do that for him. i know he was bummed. we are going to re-schedule his birthday dinner to sunday. my heart breaks for him.
we live 3 hours away from family and had we lived by family...the kids birthdays would be huge. mostly likely they would have 2 parties...one from each side of the family. that was what it was like when we lived in san jose. the teenager had his first 5 birthdays that way.
so tonight i want to thank god for blessing me 17yrs ago with my second son.
he is truly a gift.
