Joy is...

seeing a room full of team captains at the Relay for Life meeting.

this year i am on the "fight back" committee for my local relay for life event. last night we had our first team captains meeting. it was such a joy to see all these people dedicated to such an important event. we all have the same common goal...to fight back against cancer.

As of today we have:

83 Participants
34 Teams
$810 Raised (goal is $120,000)
and I believe...2 Survivors (that are signed up. goal is to have 200)

that is amazing. the event is in may and it will be wonderful to see that number grow in the comings days & months.

so i have been thinking about this "Joy is..." type posts that i have done for the past few days. i'm thinking its a new thing. to see the "joy" in my everyday. Hey...i just realized my friend Alicia blogs at "Joy in the Everyday" She gets it! So i guess that is my goal...the see the "joy in MY everyday". i want to photograph it & just enjoy it. bask in the wonderful gifts for me from the Lord. in everything i want to give thanks.

well my girl is still off from school this week. today we are going to bake gingerbread cookies & tonight she is attending a birthday party for a classmate of hers at Chuck E. Cheese. so that should be fun. she hasn't seen her classmates since they went on Christmas break.

if you have any "Joy is..." type post i would love to see them & read them.

have a wonderful day!

A friend once told me, many years ago, joy is not big vacations or fancy toys - it is in the everyday {a child's laugh, a beautiful sunset, the smell of fresh baked bread}. She was so right! I will be cheering you on as you find your "joy in the everyday".

Thanks, Nicole, for reminding us to find the joy in our everyday life. How wonderful it would be if all of God's children did this EVERYDAY.

Here's spreading the joy...
